The City Government of Surabaya, in collaboration with the University of Surabaya (UBAYA), has installed a 2000 wp capacity on-grid solar panel system on the roof of the City Hall as a pilot project for renewable energy. This initiative, led by Mayor Eri Cahyadi and UBAYA Rector Dr. Ir. Benny Lianto, aims to promote environmentally friendly technology, encourage youth entrepreneurship, and support the city's goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2060.

Waste reduction Recycling
Pusdakota Universitas Surabaya introduced various environmentally friendly technologies, such as community-scale composting, the Takakura method for household composting, and liquid waste management and sanitation, during its 10th-anniversary celebration. The event also marked the launch of Social Eco-Friendly Technology as part of Pusdakota's commitment to community empowerment and environmental conservation.
