Green Transportation

The University of Surabaya (UBAYA) is advancing green transportation through innovation and collaboration. In celebration of its 54th anniversary, UBAYA introduced electric bicycles and motorcycles as part of its commitment to sustainable mobility. These efforts have been followed by the development and use of student- and faculty-designed electric bikes for campus patrols, reducing carbon emissions on-site. UBAYA also partnered with Polygon to develop the Onthel Electric Bike, combining heritage bicycle design with modern electric technology. These initiatives showcase UBAYA’s dedication to eco-friendly transport solutions and sustainable campus practices.

Campus Preservation

UBAYA demonstrates its commitment to campus preservation through the establishment of the Pusat Arsip dan Museum UBAYA, which serves as a central institution for safeguarding the university’s historical and cultural heritage. Located at the Ngagel campus, this center manages archival records, preserves important institutional documents, and restores damaged materials, ensuring the continuity of knowledge and memory. Through activities like archival acquisition, digital ecosystem initiatives, and public exhibitions aligned with national and international archival and museum days, UBAYA promotes historical awareness and strengthens environmental responsibility within its academic community.
